Fri Nov 08 04:48:49 UTC 2024: ## NASA Reassures Public: Astronaut Suni Williams is in Good Health Aboard ISS
**Houston, TX** – NASA has issued a statement clarifying that astronaut Suni Williams, currently serving as commander of the International Space Station (ISS), is in good health, despite recent media speculation to the contrary. Tabloid publications, citing an outside doctor’s opinion on a photo of Williams, suggested she may be experiencing health issues in orbit.
“All NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station undergo routine medical evaluations, have dedicated flight surgeons monitoring them, and are in good health,” NASA stated in an email.
The agency emphasized that they are not tracking any concerns about Williams or any other NASA astronaut on board the ISS. Currently, four NASA astronauts and three Russian cosmonauts are residing on the orbiting laboratory.
Williams and fellow NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore arrived at the ISS in June aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. Their planned weeklong mission was extended due to issues with the Starliner’s thruster system, leading to an extended stay. They are scheduled to return to Earth in February 2025 with the crew of SpaceX’s Crew-9 mission.
NASA officials confirmed that ample supplies, including food, are available to sustain Williams and Wilmore throughout their unexpected mission extension.
