**Nara, Japan:** The fourth edition of the Asia Pacific Academy (APAC) tournament concluded successfully despite challenging weather conditions. 38 teams and over 400 participants from Japan, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Australia, Italy, and Taiwan battled it out in the U10 and U12 categories.
Barça Academy Nara defended their title in the U12 category, defeating an Italian team 4-0 in the final. The team had previously edged out Barça Escola Barcelona in a tense 2-1 semi-final match. In the U10 final, an Italian team emerged victorious after a 1-1 draw with Barça Academy Katsushika, winning on penalties.
The tournament wasn’t just about football. Participants and their families enjoyed a cultural immersion, visiting Kyoto, a historic city known for its traditional architecture, and Nara’s Natural Park, where they interacted with local culture and fed the famous deer. A Friendship Dinner allowed teams to exchange gifts from their respective countries, fostering a sense of camaraderie.
The opening ceremony featured a traditional Japanese matsuri, complete with a ninja show and food trucks serving Japanese delicacies.
This year’s APAC tournament cemented its reputation as a unique platform for young athletes to develop their skills, experience different cultures, and build lasting friendships.
