**Thiruvananthapuram:** Kerala has secured a commanding lead against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy cricket match, thanks to half-centuries from captain Sachin Baby and Salman Nizar. At the end of day two, Kerala was on 340/7, leading by 178 runs.

On day one, Kerala had bowled out Uttar Pradesh for 162 runs. In their second innings, Kerala resumed on 82/2 and managed to add another 258 runs before stumps. Sachin Baby top-scored with 83 runs, while Salman Nizar contributed 74 runs. Mohammed Asaruddin was the other notable batsman, remaining unbeaten on 11.

Shivam Mavi and Shivam Sharma took two wickets each for Uttar Pradesh, while Saurabh, Aaqib Khan, and Piyush Chawla claimed one wicket each.

Kerala’s batting performance was particularly impressive, especially given that they lost wickets at crucial stages of the innings. The team will be looking to further consolidate their lead on day three and secure a comfortable win.
