**New York, NY** – Kashyap “Kash” Patel, a lawyer of Gujarati descent, has emerged as a key figure in the Trump administration, rising from public defender to a position of influence within the National Security Council.

Patel, born and raised in Garden City, New York, is described by The Atlantic as a loyal Trump ally who “will do anything” for the former president. His father, who fled Uganda during the rule of Idi Amin in the 1970s, instilled in him a strong sense of patriotism and a belief in American values. Patel, raised Hindu, graduated from the University of Richmond and earned a law degree from a New York university. He also holds a Certificate in International Law from University College London.

Patel’s career has spanned various roles, including serving as a public defender in state and federal courts, where he handled complex cases involving murder, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. He later joined the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence as National Security Advisor and Senior Counsel, leading the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

In 2019, Patel joined the Trump administration as a 40-year-old lawyer and quickly rose through the ranks. He served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, where he played a key role in executing Trump’s top priorities, including eliminating ISIS and al-Qaeda leaders and securing the repatriation of American hostages. He also served as Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller.
