**NEW YORK CITY** – New York City will observe Election Day as a public holiday on Tuesday, November 5th, with schools, government offices, and courts closed. While classes will resume on Wednesday, November 6th, city and state courts will remain closed.
The Public Library system will remain open on Election Day, offering a convenient resource for those seeking information about the upcoming election.
Alternate Side Parking rules will be suspended on Tuesday, but all other parking regulations, including parking meters, will remain in effect.
Trash, recycling, and compost collection will be suspended on November 5th. Residents with regular pickup on Tuesday are advised to place their items at the curb Tuesday evening for collection starting Wednesday, November 6th.
