**Chennai, India:** The highly anticipated film “Thug Life,” starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam, has finally received a release date. On the occasion of Kamal Haasan’s birthday, the makers announced that the film will hit theaters worldwide on June 5, 2025, in multiple languages.
A new glimpse of the film was also released, featuring a powerful portrayal of Kamal Haasan as both a warrior and a contemporary man. The 44-second video, released in Tamil, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, showcases the film’s epic scale and action-packed sequences. While the glimpse offers a glimpse into the film’s visuals, it doesn’t reveal much about the plot.
Besides Kamal Haasan, the star-studded cast includes Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Ashok Selvan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nassar, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, with action sequences choreographed by Anbariv.
“Thug Life” marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after their critically acclaimed 1987 film “Nayakan.” The shooting for the film commenced in January 2023 and concluded in September.
Kamal Haasan has a busy schedule ahead with multiple projects in the pipeline, including Shankar’s “Indian 3,” the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 AD,” and an undisclosed new project.
