Wed Nov 06 23:04:42 UTC 2024: ## England Fight Back to Set 263-8 in Deciding ODI Against West Indies

**BRIDGETOWN, Barbados:** England overcame a shaky start to reach a respectable 263-8 in the deciding third ODI against West Indies on Wednesday, thanks to crucial half-centuries from Phil Salt (74) and Dan Mousley (57).

England found themselves in trouble early, losing four wickets inside the powerplay as West Indies bowlers, led by an angry Alzarri Joseph, applied immense pressure. Joseph, visibly upset with field placements set by captain Shai Hope, even left the field in protest before returning after a short break.

However, Salt and Curran steadied the ship with a 70-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Salt, who reached his fifth ODI half-century, fell to Matthew Forde after a spectacular combined catch from Brandon King and Joseph.

Mousley, making his maiden ODI half-century, joined Salt in another crucial partnership, as England recovered to add 100 runs in the last 10 overs. A late flourish from Jofra Archer, who smashed three sixes in a quickfire 38 not out, further boosted the total.

West Indies also faced challenges, with Romario Shepherd suffering an injury while bowling, forcing Sherfane Rutherford to bowl an expensive 3.5 overs.

With England setting a challenging target, the deciding ODI promises an exciting finale.
