**New Delhi, November 7, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a phone call with US President-elect Donald Trump on November 6, congratulating him on his re-election victory and the Republican Party’s success in the Congressional elections.
PM Modi highlighted Trump’s “spectacular and resounding victory,” attributing it to the deep trust the American people have in his leadership and vision. He also emphasized the positive momentum of the India-US partnership during Trump’s first term, recalling their memorable interactions, including the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston in 2019 and the “Namaste Trump” event in Ahmedabad during Trump’s visit to India in 2020.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, emphasizing its importance for both countries and for global peace and stability.
