Thu Nov 07 00:53:50 UTC 2024: ## Manchester City Boss Confident Despite Recent Slump

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back from a recent run of poor form, despite midfielder Bernardo Silva’s comments suggesting the club is in a “dark place.”

City suffered a 4-1 defeat to Sporting CP in the Champions League on Tuesday, marking their third consecutive loss – their first such streak since 2018. This followed their elimination from the Carabao Cup by Tottenham and the end of their 32-match unbeaten run in the Premier League at the hands of Bournemouth.

The slump comes amidst a string of injuries, with key players such as Rodri, Jack Grealish, Rúben Dias, and John Stones all sidelined. Despite these challenges, Guardiola remains optimistic: “It will be a tough season, we knew that from the start. But this is what it is. I like it, I love it, I want to face it and lift my players and try.”

He acknowledged the need to analyze the team’s struggles but emphasized a refusal to give up: “I have to try and find an explanation. Sometimes it is just football. We have to accept it. Life is that, sport is that. We are coming back to Manchester to prepare the game against Brighton. I am not giving up.”

City, currently second in the Premier League table, will face eighth-placed Brighton on Saturday as they look to return to winning ways.
