**Chennai, November 7, 2024:** IIT Madras graduates will have the opportunity to pursue research at the University of Minnesota thanks to the efforts of alumnus Rajesh Rajamani, a distinguished professor at the university.
Rajamani, who received the prestigious Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Madras, is a leading expert in autonomous vehicles and intelligent transportation systems. He aims to collaborate with his alma mater by offering IIT Madras graduate students the chance to spend several months at the University of Minnesota, contributing to his research and gaining experience in cutting-edge research infrastructure.
“This collaboration will provide IIT Madras students with exposure to a new research environment, interaction with renowned faculty members, and access to state-of-the-art equipment, including autonomous vehicles,” said Rajamani. He also hopes to explore the possibility of joint Master’s and doctoral degree programs between the two institutions.
Rajamani’s research encompasses various fields beyond autonomous vehicles, including medical wearables and estimation algorithms for smart systems. He is open to collaborating with students from IIT Madras’ newly launched Department of Medical Science and Technology.
