Thu Nov 07 10:22:04 UTC 2024: ## Malaysia to Restart Search for Missing MH370

**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia** – Malaysia is set to relaunch the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board. The decision follows a credible proposal from US-based marine exploration company Ocean Infinity, outlining a search plan for a 15,000 sqkm zone off the coast of Western Australia.

Ocean Infinity claims to have scientific evidence of the plane’s final resting place and has submitted a proposal to the Malaysian government, which has confirmed the advanced talks with the company. The search will operate on a “no find, no fee” structure, meaning Malaysia will only bear costs if the wreckage is found.

Ocean Infinity is seeking a $70 million fee if successful, and their CEO, Oliver Plunkett, stated, “We now feel in a position to be able to return to the search for MH370, and have submitted a proposal to the Malaysian government. Finding MH370 and bringing some resolution for all connected with the loss of the aircraft has been a constant in our minds since we left the southern Indian Ocean in 2018.”

Previous searches, including one led by Malaysia, China, and Australia, and another by Ocean Infinity in 2018, have yielded no significant findings. This renewed search effort comes as a Beijing court reviews compensation claims from over 40 families of Chinese passengers on board.

The Chinese foreign ministry has expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to resolving the case, with spokesperson Wang Wenbin welcoming the collaboration.
