**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has released the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025, the gateway to India’s prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Prospective candidates need to meet specific age limits, academic requirements, and JEE Main performance standards to be eligible for the exam.
**Age Limit:** Candidates must have been born on or after October 1st, 2000, to be eligible. However, a five-year relaxation is granted for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, allowing them to be born on or after October 1st, 1995.
**JEE Main Performance:** Candidates must secure a rank within the top 2,50,000 in the JEE Main 2025 B.E./B.Tech. paper to qualify for JEE Advanced. The shortlisting is category-wise, ensuring fair representation for General, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
**Academic Requirements:** Candidates must have appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) exams for the first time in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
**Attempts:** Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of three times in consecutive years, offering more opportunities to qualify.
**Previous IIT Admission:** Candidates previously admitted to an IIT under any academic program are ineligible for JEE Advanced 2025. Exceptions apply for those admitted to a preparatory course in 2024.
**Reservations:** The JEE Advanced 2025 shortlists 2,50,000 candidates, with specific seat allocations for each category: 96,187 for Open, 64,125 for OBC-NCL, 35,625 for SC, 17,812 for ST, and reserved seats for PwD candidates in each category. OCI and PIO cardholders, who received their cards before March 4th, 2021, will be considered Indian nationals for seat allocation but are ineligible for category-based reservations, except for Open-PwD seats.
**PwD Candidates:** Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates enjoy a horizontal reservation across categories in JEE Advanced 2025, with a 5% reservation within each category.
**Class XII Result Declaration:** Candidates must have their Class XII results declared in 2023, 2024, or 2025 to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025.
