**New Delhi, November 7, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday commemorated the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, highlighting its significance in recognizing the sacrifices of India’s veterans.

In a series of posts on X, Modi recalled that the scheme, a key promise made by the BJP before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, was implemented on this day in 2015. He emphasized that OROP has benefited lakhs of pensioners and their families over the past decade.

“Beyond the numbers, OROP represents the government’s commitment to the well-being of our armed forces,” Modi stated, adding that his government will continue to prioritize the welfare of those who serve the nation.

The Prime Minister described the implementation of OROP as a tribute to the bravery and dedication of veterans and ex-service personnel who dedicate their lives to safeguarding India. He asserted that the scheme is a testament to the nation’s gratitude for their sacrifices, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the veterans’ community.
