**Salem, November 7, 2024:** A 21-year-old domestic worker, Santhan Kumar, has gone missing after allegedly stealing ₹40 lakh from his employer’s home in Salem.
The incident came to light when Rahul Bhatia, a textile businessman, returned from a Deepavali trip to Bengaluru on Tuesday. Upon arriving at his residence in Alagapuram, he discovered that his domestic help was missing. He later found ₹40 lakh missing from his almirah and immediately filed a complaint with the Alagapuram police.
The police are investigating the matter and have asked Bhatia to provide documentation for the missing cash. While authorities have been tracking Kumar’s mobile phone signal, it has been switched off in Bengaluru.
The investigation is ongoing.
