Thu Nov 07 09:25:05 UTC 2024: ## Long-Delayed Thriller “Naam” Finally Set for Release After 16 Years

**Mumbai, India:** After a 16-year wait, the much-anticipated thriller “Naam” starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Anees Bazmee is finally set to hit theaters on November 22, 2024. The film, originally shot in 2006, was initially titled “Benaam” and slated for release in 2008, but faced delays following the death of producer Dinesh Patel.

Anil Roongta, who joined the project in 2020 as producer, has spoken about the challenges in bringing the film to completion. “We faced financial hurdles and were delayed by the pandemic,” Roongta explained. “We had to wait for the right time to release the film given the market conditions.”

Devgn, who was launched by Patel in the 1991 film “Phool Aur Kaante,” remained dedicated to the project and reportedly actively participated in the post-production work. “He never forgot the contribution of Dinesh Patel,” a source revealed.

While the film has undergone a significant delay, director Anees Bazmee believes its story remains relevant even after all this time. Bazmee recently stated, “Some stories are timeless, and I am confident that ‘Naam’ will connect with the audience.”

“Naam,” a psychological thriller, features Sameera Reddy opposite Devgn. The film was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra, but she declined due to scheduling conflicts.

Despite the long wait, the anticipation for “Naam” is high, especially with both Devgn and Bazmee garnering praise for their recent releases “Singham Again” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” respectively. The film is expected to be a thrilling and nostalgic experience for audiences, revisiting a project that was frozen in time for nearly two decades.
