**Muvattupuzha, November 6, 2024:** Shiny Mathew, 49, of Avoli in Muvattupuzha, has been arrested by the Muvattupuzha police for allegedly defrauding two job seekers by promising them non-existent work visas.

Mathew, who operated under the guise of a recruitment firm in Muvattupuzha, collected over ₹6 lakh from the victims. She promised one aspirant a job in a German supermarket, collecting ₹4.38 lakh for the visa. The other victim was promised a job in Singapore, for which Mathew collected ₹2 lakh.

Police investigation revealed that the recruitment firm did not have a license for overseas recruitment. Mathew has been charged with cheating and is currently in police custody.
