Beckham, who had a memorable encounter with Kohli during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final in Mumbai last year, shared his well wishes through an Instagram story.

The story featured a throwback picture of Beckham watching Kohli’s spectacular knock at the Wankhede Stadium. He also posted another photo of Kohli and expressed hope for another visit to India soon, where he could reconnect with the cricketer.

Beckham, who was in Mumbai as a UNICEF ambassador, had a chance to meet Kohli during the World Cup semi-final. He even shared an Instagram post showcasing him walking around the stadium with Sachin Tendulkar when Kohli passed him the ball. Beckham and Kohli then passed the ball around again during the Indian team’s practice session ahead of the semi-final.

Beckham witnessed Kohli’s historic 50th ODI century, a feat that surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Kohli’s 100 runs were a highlight of India’s record-breaking 397 runs against New Zealand, the highest total by any team in the knockout stage of the tournament. India went on to win the match by 70 runs with Mohammed Shami’s impressive seven-wicket haul.
