**Varanasi, India:** In observance of the widely celebrated Chhath Puja festival, the District Magistrate of Varanasi has declared a local holiday on November 7th. The holiday was announced by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue), Vanditha Srivastava.
Chhath Puja is a significant Hindu festival dedicated to the Sun God and his wife, Chhathi Maiya. The festival is particularly popular in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, including the city of Varanasi.
