Florianopolis, Brazil will host the FIDE World Youth Chess Championships from October 28th to November 10th, with over 500 young players from 63 countries vying for the title.
The tournament will see a strong Russian contingent, with 17 promising players representing their nation. These include winners and prize-takers of the World, Asian, and Russian youth championships, such as Aleksey Grebnev, Erdem Khubukshanov, Olga Karmanova, and Oksana Goriachkina.
The competition will be held in a 11-round Swiss format, with separate tournaments for open and girls’ categories. Game days are scheduled from October 29th to November 3rd and November 5th to 9th, starting at 9 PM Moscow time.
