Mon Nov 04 19:08:14 UTC 2024: ## Modi Condemns Attack on Hindu Temple in Canada, Demands Justice

**Brampton, Ontario:** Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, and called on the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi also condemned the intimidation of Indian diplomats in Canada.

The attack, which involved protesters carrying Khalistani flags clashing with people at the Hindu Sabha temple, has drawn condemnation from both India and Canada.

“I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law,” Modi stated.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) echoed Modi’s sentiments, calling on the Canadian government to protect all places of worship and prosecute those involved in the violence.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the incident, stating that “every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely.” Trudeau thanked the Peel Regional Police for their swift response and investigation.

The incident comes amid strained relations between India and Canada, which deteriorated last September after Trudeau alleged Indian involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. New Delhi has vehemently denied these allegations.
