Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on November 13th, during which he will lay the foundation stone for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Darbhanga. The event will see the participation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other top leaders of the ruling coalition.
Darbhanga BJP MLA, Sanjay Sarawgi, confirmed the Prime Minister’s visit and the AIIMS foundation stone laying ceremony. The central government has allocated an initial budget of ₹1,261 crore for this crucial project. The Darbhanga AIIMS is envisioned as a state-of-the-art healthcare facility. The Bihar government has provided 188 acres of land for the project, and its completion is expected within three years.
The construction of Darbhanga AIIMS has been a subject of political debate in Bihar. After the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government, the project faced a setback, with the central government initially withdrawing from the construction due to concerns over the allotted land. However, with the return of the NDA government in Bihar, the central government agreed to proceed with the construction on the same land.
