Tue Nov 05 07:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Neymar’s Return Cut Short by Injury in Al Hilal Victory

**Riyadh, Saudi Arabia** – Neymar’s return to action for Al Hilal was cut short by injury in a 3-0 victory over Esteghlal in the Asian Champions League Elite match on Wednesday. The Brazilian star, making his second appearance since a year-long absence due to an ACL tear, came on as a substitute in the 58th minute but was forced off less than 30 minutes later.

Neymar appeared to pull up while stretching for the ball in the penalty area, grabbing the back of his right leg. This incident raised concerns about the player’s recovery, as he had only recently returned to the field following surgery in November.

Despite Neymar’s injury, Al Hilal secured a comfortable victory thanks to a hat-trick from Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, propelling the team to the top of the league phase table in the Asian Champions League.

Neymar had made his Al Hilal debut on October 21st after joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. However, he was unable to play in the Saudi Pro League until January due to registration restrictions.

The Brazilian star, who is the all-time leading scorer for Brazil, had been carefully managed in his return to fitness. He was left off the Brazilian national team’s squad for recent World Cup qualifiers, with coach Dorival stating that the team and federation were cautious about rushing his return.

Brazil currently sits fourth in their World Cup qualifying group, four points behind leaders Argentina. The extent of Neymar’s injury is currently unknown, but fans will be hoping for a swift recovery for the star player.
