Tue Nov 05 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Farmers Threaten to Storm CM’s Residence Over Waqf Land Issue: Kumaraswamy Warns
**Bengaluru, November 5, 2024:** Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday issued a stark warning to the Karnataka government, claiming that farmers will soon storm the residences of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister if the issue of waqf property allocation is not addressed.
Kumaraswamy, during a campaign rally in Channapatna, accused the Congress government of misleading the public and promoting division based on caste and community. He pointed to a recent statement by a Congress MLC who threatened that people would barge into the Governor’s residence, drawing parallels to events in Bangladesh.
The former Chief Minister maintained that no files related to waqf property allocation came before him during his tenure. He challenged Siddaramaiah to expose any wrongdoing on his part regarding decisions made during the BJP’s term. He further stated that if any such allocation happened during his time, it was under the Congress’s watch, as Krishna Byre Gowda was the then Revenue Minister and B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan held the Waqf portfolio.
Kumaraswamy urged the government to rectify the situation and apologize to the people. He warned that if the government fails to address the farmers’ grievances over waqf land allocation, they will take matters into their own hands and storm the residences of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
