Celta Vigo returned to winning ways on Sunday, overcoming a resilient Getafe side in a tense encounter at Balaídos. The Galician side, fresh off a shock defeat to Leganes, took the lead early thanks to a clever cross from Iago Aspas that found Anastasios Douvikas unmarked at the back post.

Their four-game unbeaten run came to an end, highlighting the team’s struggle for consistency this season.
Both sides dedicated their victory to the victims of the recent flooding in the Valencian Community. Celta captain Aspas was visibly emotional as he greeted the fans at the end of the game, emphasizing the importance of community solidarity in times of hardship.
