**New Delhi, India:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the attack on a Hindu temple in Canada, calling it a deliberate act of violence and expressing concern over the intimidation of Indian diplomats.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi stated, “I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.”
The attack, which occurred in Brampton, Ontario, involved individuals waving Khalistani flags and engaging in a confrontation with worshippers at the Hindu Sabha temple.
Earlier, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed deep concern over the safety of Indian citizens in Canada, calling for swift action against the perpetrators.
MEA spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, condemned the violence and urged the Canadian government to protect all places of worship from such attacks.
Following the incident, Hindu organizations in Canada have decided to restrict the entry of Canadian leaders into temples.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the attack, emphasizing that every Canadian has the right to practice their religion freely and safely.
Meanwhile, in India, Manoj Jarange Patil, a prominent leader of the Maratha reservation movement, has announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Maharashtra elections. He has called on supporters to oppose those who are against Maratha reservation. This move could benefit the BJP, which has been affected by the Maratha reservation movement, and potentially impact the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi.
