Sun Nov 03 22:56:51 UTC 2024: ## Blaney Earns Spot in Championship 4 After Martinsville Victory

Ryan Blaney will have another shot at a NASCAR Cup Series championship after securing his spot in the Championship 4 with a win at Sunday’s Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

The 2023 champion led 31 laps and took the lead with 13 laps remaining after a decisive move against Chase Elliott. “I tried to save my rear tires early,” Blaney said after the race. “Proud of all of the effort of the 12 crew, never giving up. Having another shot at a championship is really special.”

Blaney faced a setback on lap 407 when a restart was not waived after Kyle Busch lost a tire. Despite the frustration, Blaney persevered and worked his way through the field.

This victory comes after a heartbreaking loss at last week’s race in Homestead-Miami Speedway, where Tyler Reddick took the win on the final lap. Blaney will now head to Phoenix Raceway next week for the Championship 4, vying for his second consecutive Cup Series title.
