Mumbai, India: Popular television actress Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in the show “Anupamaa,” has been embroiled in a public dispute after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, publicly accused her of being “controlling and psychotic” and of alienating her and her sister from their father, Ashvin Verma.
Esha, in a social media post, alleged that Ganguly had been involved with her father for 12 years while he was still married and that she has actively tried to keep him away from his daughters. She also claimed that Ganguly’s portrayal of a happy marriage is a façade, stating that she has only one son with Ashvin, not two as previously stated.
Ashvin Verma has come out in defense of his wife, confirming that he does have two daughters from a previous marriage and that Ganguly has always been aware of them. He acknowledged that his younger daughter is still coping with the challenges of their parents’ divorce but maintained that the difficulties were between him and his ex-wife, not involving Ganguly. He expressed sadness that his daughters are being drawn into a “media-driven negativity.”
Ganguly herself has not responded to the accusations. She has often spoken fondly of her husband in the past, calling him the “man of her dreams” and crediting him for encouraging her to take on the role in “Anupamaa.”
