**Bengaluru, India** – Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s return to competitive cricket has been pushed back further, adding another blow to the already struggling Indian team ahead of their upcoming tour to Australia. The veteran bowler was not included in the Bengal squad for the next two rounds of the Ranji Trophy, despite hopes that he would gain match fitness through the domestic tournament.

Shami had initially been expected to feature against Karnataka this week, having bowled at full tilt in the nets following India’s recent Test series loss to New Zealand.
