Mon Nov 04 04:29:55 UTC 2024: ## Modi Confident of BJP Victory in Jharkhand, Promises Key Policies in Campaign Rallies

**New Delhi, November 4, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Jharkhand today, expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming state assembly elections. He will be addressing rallies in Garhwa and Chaibasa, where he plans to interact with “loved ones” and discuss the party’s vision for the state.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the BJP’s manifesto for the elections. The manifesto promises a range of initiatives, including the implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Jharkhand, a crackdown on “infiltrators” from Bangladesh, and the return of land occupied by infiltrators to tribal communities.

The BJP has also pledged to provide 21 lakh families with concrete homes and tap water connections. To combat unemployment, the party promises to create 2,87,000 government jobs and offer 5,00,000 self-employment opportunities. The manifesto also includes the “Laxmi Johar Yojana”, which promises gas cylinders at ₹500, with two free cylinders per year.

For farmers, the BJP promises to buy paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, with the money transferred directly to farmers’ accounts within 24 hours of procurement.

The Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, with counting scheduled for November 23. The BJP faces a competitive race with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which won 30 seats in the previous election, while the BJP won 25 and Congress won 16.
