**Mumbai, India:** Mumbai City FC secured a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Kerala Blasters FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday, marking their second win of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season.

The Islanders dominated the early stages, with Nikolaos Karelis netting a brace in the first half. He first tapped in a squared-up pass from Lallianzuala Chhangte in the ninth minute, followed by a well-timed run and a clinical finish in the 25th minute.

The match shifted dramatically in the second half, with Kerala Blasters fighting back valiantly. Karelis converted a penalty in the 55th minute after Naocha Singh was booked, but the visitors responded immediately with a penalty of their own. Jesus Jimenez halved the deficit in the 57th minute after Kwame Peprah was fouled inside the box.

Peprah was central in Kerala’s equaliser, heading in a slick delivery from Adrian Luna in the 71st minute. However, Peprah was then red-carded, leaving his team down to 10 men.

This opened the door for Mumbai City’s comeback. Nathan Rodrigues, at 20 years old, became the fourth youngest goal-scorer for the club in the ISL, finding the back of the net in the 75th minute. In the 90th minute, Chhangte converted a penalty, securing a crucial three points for Mumbai City.

This victory places Mumbai City FC in a strong position early in the season. Their dynamic attacking play and resilience in the face of adversity bode well for their campaign ahead.
