**Mumbai, India:** Bollywood actress and former wife of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, Helena Luke, passed away in the United States on November 3rd. The news was confirmed by dancer and actor Kalpana Iyer through social media.
Luke, who had been battling health issues for some time, reportedly chose not to seek medical attention in the final days.
Known for her role as the British queen in Amitabh Bachchan’s film “Mard,” Luke had a brief but impactful career in Bollywood. She starred in several films including “Bhai Akhir Bhai Hota Hai,” “Ye Nazdeekian,” and “Romance.”
Luke’s marriage to Mithun Chakraborty was short-lived, ending after only four months. In a past interview with Stardust, Luke had described the union as a “nightmare” and expressed regret, stating, “I wish it had been a bad dream.” Following their separation, Luke declined alimony, alleging that Mithun never truly loved her.
After leaving Bollywood, Luke relocated to the United States and remained out of the public eye until her passing.
