Sun Nov 03 16:53:19 UTC 2024: ## Mysuru Grahakara Parishat to Discuss Traffic Congestion Near Suburban Bus Stand
**Mysuru, November 3, 2024:** The Mysuru Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has called for a meeting on November 6th to address the ongoing traffic congestion near the Suburban Bus stand in Mysuru. The meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m. at 6/1, Vivekananda Road, Yadavgiri, will see the participation of KSRTC Divisional Controller Srinivas.
The MGP has been actively raising concerns about the traffic situation outside the Suburban Bus stand, which they deem “unmanageable”. They had previously suggested forming a task force comprising representatives from various stakeholders, including KSRTC, police, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Railways, and industry bodies, to study the issue and recommend solutions.
The MGP notes that KSRTC has proposed utilizing a portion of People’s Park near the bus stand to alleviate congestion. However, they emphasize that the traffic situation in the Central Business District, which includes both the suburban and city bus stands, should have been addressed during the development of the last Master Plan for Mysuru in 2012.
The junction of Irwin Road and Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road outside the Suburban Bus stand is particularly affected, with congestion peaking on Sundays and Mondays due to the influx of travelers returning to Bengaluru from Mysuru, especially IT professionals. The MGP hopes the meeting will lead to concrete solutions to improve traffic flow and ease the burden on commuters.
