Sun Nov 03 18:05:21 UTC 2024: ## Red Bull Optimistic Despite Qualifying Cancellation in Brazil

**Sao Paulo, Brazil** – Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing, expressed disappointment over the cancellation of qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Saturday, but stressed that the FIA made the right decision in light of the unpredictable weather conditions.

Horner was encouraged by the strong performance of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the sprint race, despite the penalty that cost Verstappen a place and points. “We had a good sprint, showed good performance and strong race pace,” Horner said. “Unfortunately, the penalty for Max cost him a place and points, but that’s how it goes sometimes.”

He praised Perez for his impressive climb through the field in the sprint race after a disappointing qualifying session. “Checo performed well in the Sprint, moving up through the field well,” Horner remarked.

Looking ahead to the main race on Sunday, Horner expressed hope for a dry and sunny race day. “We were hopeful of similar [performance] moving into qualifying, but unfortunately, the weather had other ideas,” Horner said. “It was the right call to cancel qualifying for this evening, and so we look to tomorrow and an early start in the morning to pick up where we left off. Hopefully, the weather will hold out tomorrow and we can get back to some racing.”

The Red Bull team boss remains confident that both Verstappen and Perez can continue their strong performance on Sunday, despite the chaotic conditions experienced throughout the weekend.
