Mon Nov 04 06:27:44 UTC 2024: ## BRS Leader Raises Alarm Over Mass Student Hospitalizations at Tribal Welfare School

**Hyderabad, November 4, 2024:** Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has criticized the Telangana government’s response to a health crisis at the tribal welfare residential high school for girls in Wankidi, Kumuram Bheem-Asifabad district.

According to reports, over 60 students have been hospitalized since October 30 after complaining of diarrhea and vomiting. As of Saturday, 12 students are receiving treatment at a local hospital, while three have been transferred to private hospitals in Mancherial and Kagaznagar, and the Government Hospital in Asifabad, due to their deteriorating condition. One student has been placed on a ventilator at a private hospital in Mancherial after her condition became critical.

Mr. Harish Rao alleged that the government is neglecting the situation by only admitting students to the local hospital in phases, instead of providing better healthcare. He expressed concern about the lack of action to improve the conditions at the institution.

This incident has raised serious questions about the quality of care and hygiene at the tribal welfare residential school. The government is facing pressure to investigate the situation and take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.
