Sun Nov 03 17:51:18 UTC 2024: ## DYFI Appeals for Postponement of APPSC Group-II Mains Exam
**Vijayawada, November 3, 2024:** The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has urged the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to delay the Group-II Mains examination by a month, citing concerns raised by job aspirants.
The DYFI state president, Y. Ramu, and secretary, G. Ramanna, stated that the exam is currently scheduled for January 5, 2025, causing undue pressure on aspirants already preparing for other competitive examinations, including those conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board.
The APPSC announced the recruitment process for 899 Group-II vacancies in December 2023. Over 4 lakh candidates took the preliminary exam in February 2024, with results declared in April. The Mains exam, initially planned for July 28, was postponed.
DYFI leaders argued that the current timeline does not allow sufficient preparation time for candidates juggling multiple exams. They requested a postponement to February 2025, allowing aspirants to adequately prepare for the crucial Group-II Mains examination.
