Mon Nov 04 13:37:46 UTC 2024: ## DMK Functionary Arrested for Attacking AIADMK Member in Mannargudi
**TIRUVARUR, November 4, 2024:** A DMK functionary, Sakthi, and two of his friends have been arrested by the Mannargudi police in connection with a brutal attack on an AIADMK functionary, Ramesh. The incident occurred on the night of November 3rd at Kizhpalam, Mannargudi.
According to police reports, Sakthi, along with his associates Ravi and Durai, ambushed Ramesh and attacked him with lethal weapons. Ramesh was seriously injured and rushed to the Government District Headquarters Hospital in Mannargudi by local residents.
The attack is believed to stem from animosity between Ramesh and Sakthi, dating back to the recent local body elections where Sakthi’s wife emerged victorious.
Following Ramesh’s complaint, the Mannargudi police initiated an investigation and apprehended Sakthi and his two accomplices. The investigation is ongoing.
