Mon Nov 04 11:31:23 UTC 2024: ## BMW Unveils Updated S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR Supersport Motorcycles

**Munich, Germany:** BMW Motorrad has revealed the updated 2025 versions of its iconic S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR supersport motorcycles. Both bikes receive a comprehensive overhaul, featuring new styling, Euro 5+ homologation, and an enhanced M-short stroke throttle with reduced rotation angles.

The most notable update is the **M 1000 RR** which now boasts an impressive **218 hp** at 15,100 rpm, a significant increase from the previous 212 hp. Despite the extra power, top speed remains at 314 kmph. The M RR also features new larger M winglets 3.0, crafted entirely from carbon fiber, which generate 30 kg of downforce at 300 kmph+, a substantial increase from the previous 22.6 kg.

Under the hood, the 4-cylinder engine receives new Titanium valves, a higher compression ratio, and revised intake/exhaust ports. Further refinements include adjustments to the flex frame with optimized stiffness in the steering head area and a relocated upper mounting point on the left side of the engine.

The M RR’s electronics also receive a boost. Dynamic traction control now incorporates a new slide control function thanks to the integration of a steering angle sensor. This results in a new subdivision of the DTC into slip control and slide control, along with the introduction of a brake slide assist feature, promising improved performance and control.

The **S 1000 RR** also benefits from significant updates. It gets a refreshed front end with a new cowl, asymmetric side panels, redesigned winglets, and a new front wheel cover with integrated brake ducts for improved brake cooling. These changes contribute to a higher downforce at 300 kmph, increased from 17.1 kg to 23.1 kg.

Both the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR are expected to launch in India soon, with a slight price premium over their predecessors. The current S 1000 RR is available in Standard, Pro, and Pro M trims, priced between Rs. 20.75 lakh and Rs. 25.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The M 1000 RR comes in Standard and Competition trims, priced at Rs. 49 lakh and Rs. 55 lakh respectively. Motorcyclists eagerly await the arrival of these updated supersport machines.
