**Raipur, Chhattisgarh:** Following an attack on Kabir Ashram in Damakheda on Friday night, Congress leaders, including State President Deepak Baj, visited the site and met with Kabir Panth leader Prakashmuni Saheb. The leaders expressed their condemnation of the attack, which they described as a “deplorable act of violence” by armed assailants who targeted the Ashram’s head, Vansaacharya Uditmuni Saheb, with intent to kill. They criticized the lack of security for religious institutions and figures under the current government.
The Congress has announced that the incident will be highlighted during their scheduled district-level protests on November 3rd.
Meanwhile, Balodabazar-Bhatapara police have confirmed that 16 individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack. The arrests were made based on eyewitness accounts and other evidence, and all accused have been sent to judicial custody. A minor, involved in the incident, is also being dealt with according to law.
Police authorities have deployed additional forces in Damakheda to maintain peace and assure the safety of the community. The situation is currently under control, and the area remains calm.
