**Tehran, Iran** – In response to a yellow weather alert issued by the Iranian Meteorological Organization, Tehran’s municipal services have been placed on high alert for potential heavy rainfall.
The city’s director of municipal services, Alireza Jafari, confirmed that all 22 districts have been put on standby. Teams are inspecting drainage systems, canals, and sedimentation basins, and will continue to monitor the situation closely until the end of the weather warning.
The alert, issued on Monday, warns of intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds starting late afternoon and lasting until Wednesday morning. The warning is particularly focused on the northern parts of the city, where snow and fog are also expected.
Mr. Jafari urged citizens to report any issues or concerns to the city’s 137 hotline, ensuring prompt response by the municipal services teams.
The meteorological organization has predicted a rise in air pollution levels in Tehran, Karaj, and Isfahan on Monday morning.
