**Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh (November 2, 2024):** A dangerous chemical accident at a prawn processing factory in Gokarnamatam village, Nizampatnam mandal, Bapatla district has left several workers hospitalized. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 2nd, when a worker mistakenly poured hydrochloric acid into chlorinated water, resulting in the release of a toxic fog.

According to Repalle Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Avula Srinivasa Rao, the hazardous mixture caused five workers to fall unconscious, while several others experienced breathing difficulties, headaches, eye burns, and other symptoms. The factory, identified as Royal Marine Food Processing unit, is currently under investigation.

The affected workers were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and received medical attention. They were subsequently discharged after their condition stabilized.
