Sun Nov 03 15:06:27 UTC 2024: ## NorthEast United FC Confident Ahead of Odisha FC Clash
Guwahati, November 2 – NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) are brimming with confidence after their resounding 5-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC, but coach Juan Pedro Benali is keeping his team grounded. “The three points are what matter – the scoreline doesn’t,” he said, focusing attention on the upcoming ISL match against Odisha FC on November 3.
Further boosting the Highlanders’ spirits, forward Guillermo Fernández has recovered from injury and will be included in the squad for the match, although his starting status remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, winger Jithin MS, a key player for NEUFC, is focused on self-improvement rather than national team aspirations. “I am keen on improving myself. The national team call will come,” he shared. Coach Benali, however, is confident in Jithin’s abilities, asserting that the winger is ready for the national team and the call-up is “just around the corner.”
The match against Odisha FC promises to be a tight affair. Both teams are currently tied at 8 points and vying for a top spot in the ISL standings. With the game being NEUFC’s only home match this month, the Highlanders will be looking to capitalize on the home advantage and secure a crucial victory.
