**Washington, D.C.** – U.S. intelligence agencies have identified two new fabricated videos spreading online, alleging that Haitians voted illegally in Georgia and that Vice President Kamala Harris received a bribe. The videos, deemed disinformation, have been attributed to Russia by U.S. officials who believe the Kremlin is actively working to sow distrust in the upcoming 2024 election.
This revelation follows a similar accusation made last week, when the U.S. government blamed Russia for a video falsely claiming that ballots were being destroyed in Pennsylvania.
In a joint statement, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the FBI asserted that these videos are part of Russia’s strategy to influence voters and exploit partisan divisions. A senior CISA official described the ongoing disinformation campaign as a “fire hose of disinformation,” highlighting its unprecedented scale.
Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, has already denounced the video concerning Haitian voter fraud, which began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
The latest accusations emphasize the growing concern over foreign interference in the U.S. election. Authorities are working to combat the spread of false information and maintain public confidence in the democratic process.
