**TIRUPPUR, November 3, 2024:** A lorry driver from Kerala has been arrested for allegedly killing his helper near Palladam in Tiruppur.

According to Palladam police, G. Selvakumar (40), from Palakkad district, and S. Siju (40), also from Palakkad, arrived in Palladam on Friday in a lorry carrying firewood. After parking the lorry, Selvakumar began drinking alcohol with Siju and a friend, Sivakumar, an autorickshaw driver. A fight broke out between Selvakumar and Sivakumar, resulting in the latter being assaulted and leaving the scene. Selvakumar continued drinking with Siju, and an argument ensued, during which Selvakumar allegedly assaulted Siju and pushed him out of the cabin.

Selvakumar slept in the cabin and found Siju dead the next morning. He then fled the scene but was traced and arrested on Saturday.
