In a dramatic twist, Nelly became the sixth baker to leave the tent in Tuesday night’s episode of The Great British Bake Off. While viewers were stunned by the exit, Nelly expressed her readiness to leave the competition and return to her family.
“It’s not commiseration,” she said, “It’s a positive. I am so ready to leave. I never ever thought I would get to round 6!”
Nelly’s journey on Bake Off was filled with emotional highs and lows, with her highlight being the Bread Week technical challenge, where she earned a first place finish. “You know my childhood was very difficult,” she explained. “We have been making bread for a living, so that was a winner for me!”
