**ATLANTA** – Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will be sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons due to disciplinary reasons, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Elliott, who was originally scheduled to play, did not travel with the team on Saturday. His agent, Rocky Arceneaux, was unavailable for comment. This marks the first time in his career that Elliott will be a healthy scratch from a game where the Cowboys’ playoff hopes are still in play.

This season, Elliott has struggled to find his footing, registering only 149 yards on 48 carries and two touchdowns in seven games. The veteran back, who signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys in April, has been overshadowed by the emergence of Rico Dowdle, who has been the team’s leading rusher.

With Dowdle healthy and veteran Dalvin Cook elevated from the practice squad for the second week in a row, the Cowboys are looking to find a solution to their lackluster rushing attack. The team currently sits last in the NFL for rushing yards per game (74.1) and hasn’t had a 100-yard rusher in 21 straight games.
