**Bengaluru:** Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all notices issued to farmers regarding Waqf land issues, following a high-level meeting with senior officials from the Revenue, Minority Welfare, and Waqf departments.
The decision comes after concerns were raised about the potential for disruption to farmers and the exploitation of the Waqf issue for political gains by the opposition JD(S) and BJP.
The Chief Minister, in a statement from his office, expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of certain officials and urged the public to ignore any misinformation regarding the matter.
Siddaramaiah has instructed officials to handle the situation with sensitivity and ensure that no harassment or disruptions occur to farmers concerning land under their possession. He has also ordered the immediate nullification of any unauthorized changes made to land records without proper legal procedures.
The meeting was attended by Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, and senior government officials.
Earlier, Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that all District Deputy Commissioners have been directed not to issue notices to farmers under the Waqf Act, and that revenue records will be considered final in all administrative actions.
While the immediate issue appears resolved, the future course of action regarding Waqf land remains uncertain.
