**Mangaluru, November 3, 2024:** In a joint operation, the Bajpe and Udupi CEN police have arrested four individuals and seized a significant amount of drugs, including MDMA and cannabis.

The Bajpe police apprehended Ummar Farooq (38) and Mohammed Abdul Junaid (34) while they were attempting to sell MDMA near Permude Gram Panchayat cross on the Bajpe-Kateel Road. The police recovered 9.11 gm of MDMA valued at ₹50,000, along with two mobile phones, a motorcycle, and an electronic weighing machine. Both accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the Udupi CEN police arrested Mohammed Safaz (29) and Charan U. Bhandary (19) from a playground near Puttur in Udupi taluk. The police recovered 740 gm of cannabis worth ₹53,300, along with ₹2,170, a two-wheeler, two mobile phones, and a knife. The apprehended individuals are currently facing legal proceedings.

These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by the police to curb drug trafficking and distribution in the region. The authorities are committed to maintaining public safety and security by proactively targeting individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
