Sun Nov 03 00:20:00 UTC 2024: ## “Phantom of the Opera” Returns to US in 2025 with Revamped Production

**Baltimore, MD** – Cameron Mackintosh announced today that the iconic musical “The Phantom of the Opera” will return to North America in November 2025 with a revitalized production that first premiered in London in 2021. The tour will launch at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland, and will be directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn, drawing inspiration from the original direction by Harold Prince.

The new production, featuring updated aspects of the original staging and Maria Björnson’s design, has received rave reviews from critics and audiences in London. The tour promises to deliver a dazzlingly fresh take on the much-loved story of the disfigured musical genius, captivating audiences with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s soaring score and the iconic chandelier.

“I am really delighted to bring Andrew Lloyd Webber’s PHANTOM OF THE OPERA back to thrill American audiences once again,” stated Cameron Mackintosh. “Our exciting new team, inspired by their predecessors’ glorious work, updated certain aspects of the production that resulted in a dazzlingly fresh version of the much-loved original,” he added.

Andrew Lloyd Webber echoed the excitement, saying, “The Phantom made it very clear that it would not be long before his legend would, once again, be told in America. I still get goosebumps every time that chandelier comes alive and infuses the theatre with something that only happens when design, direction and music are completely at one.”

Ron Legler, president of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, expressed his personal connection to the production, stating, “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is near and dear to my heart. It was the first mega-musical I worked on more than 30 years ago. To see this iconic production come back into my life decades later and begin its new tour at the Hippodrome is a full-circle moment and a true honor.”

The original Broadway production of “The Phantom of the Opera” ran for an unprecedented 35 years, becoming the longest-running show in Broadway history. This new North American tour is set to continue the musical’s legacy, reintroducing a new generation of fans to the captivating story of love, passion, and the music of the night.

Further information on tour cities, casting, and ticketing will be announced at a later date. You can stay updated on the “Phantom of the Opera” tour by visiting https://us.thephantomoftheopera.com.
