**Kochi, November 3, 2024:** In a bid to foster interfaith harmony and address a contentious land dispute, Jamaat-e-Islami Kerala Amir P. Mujeeb Rahman on Saturday visited Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil of the Latin Archdiocese of Varapuzha. During the meeting, Mr. Rahman urged for an amicable resolution of the Munambam land dispute, emphasizing the shared goal of peace and justice among all religions.
Mr. Rahman highlighted the dangers of communal polarization, stating that it is often engineered by those seeking narrow political gains. He urged for collective action to counter such divisive forces and promote societal harmony.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Kerala leader also called for government intervention in finding a peaceful solution to the land dispute. Mr. Rahman was accompanied by Jamaat-e-Islami Kerala Ernakulam district president Jamal Panayikkulam. The meeting was attended by Auxiliary bishop Antony Valumkal and vicar generals Mathew Kallinkal and Mathew Elanjimittam.
