**MUMBAI, INDIA** – India’s Shubman Gill believes one strong partnership is all it takes to secure victory against New Zealand in the ongoing second Test at Wankhede Stadium. After Day 2, India holds a 143-run lead, with New Zealand struggling at 171/9.

“It’s all about one good partnership,” Gill stated in the post-day press conference. “If we can get a 70-80 run stand chasing a target around 150-160, the match is done and dusted.”

Gill, who narrowly missed his century by ten runs, emphasized the importance of a strong partnership in lifting the team’s morale and putting pressure on the opposition. “Once there is a 70-80 run partnership, the body language of the opposition also drops,” he added.

Gill’s personal success stems from revisiting the technical work he did before the England Test series earlier this year. “In that series, I was batting at my best against spinners, and I tried to replicate that mindset and those positions in practice before this match,” he revealed.

Gill’s 90-run knock, along with Rishabh Pant’s 60, helped India build a 28-run lead as they strive to avoid a 0-3 series whitewash against the visiting Kiwis.
